Ideas and Resources to Reflect on and Refine Learning

Reflecting on Learning

For long-term reflection, have students document their learning journey in a blog. Kidblog (app/website) is free and easy to use. Have students comment on their learning process by posting their work on a Voicethread.

Provide students with data from progress reports from a Google Form or have them track their own progress in a Google Spreadsheet.

Student Work

Celebrate and publish student work by posting it on a teacher website such as Wikispaces or Wix.  Invite parents and other community members to visit student Voicethread projects and leave comments.  Virtually "hang" student work around your classroom with QR codes or Auras--or post QR codes for book trailers in books.

Creative Commons Resources

As students share their work with larger audiences outside the classroom, they need to be aware of fair use and copyright laws--in general how to be be a good digital citizen.  Build and manage your works cited on the iPad using EasyBib or on the computer using NoodleTools or other citation software.  Find resources with creative commons copyright permissions at Wikimedia Commons or  Flickr or check out the wide variety of Creative Commons Resources curated by 2sparkley on Live Binders. Soundzabound is a rich subscription-based resource for obtaining music for school projects.

Daily Reflections

Students can send a "Be sure to..." statement using a resource such as Today's Meet or Socrative.

Fast feedback websites like Socrative can be used instead of colored paper in a BYOD or 1:1 classroom.
